About Us

Boxing London was founded in 1992 by professional boxer Enzo Giordano and amateur boxer Oner Avara; almost three decades later and it’s still going strong. Boxing London celebrates the love and art of boxing, a reminder that the sport is far more than just a fitness regime. This is reinforced by the images of legendary fighters plastered on the walls. Featured as Top 5 Best Boxing Gyms in London by GQ, TimeOut, and many other credible magazines.
Boxing London ignores bravado and acknowledges only self-control, unselfishness, and those with sharp minds.

ENZO GIORDANO

Enzo Giordano, co-founder of Left Hook, began his boxing career in 1989 in North London. At Light Middleweight, Enzo competed in 28 amateur fights before turning professional as a Super Middleweight in 1995, he had ten professional fights, including British S/A title before retiring. Enzo has been teaching boxing training to recreational, amateur, and professional boxers since 1992 when he founded Boxing London.

Matt Burke

Matt is a REPs qualified Fitness Instructor, a REPs qualified Personal Trainer and an ABA qualified boxing coach. He has been involved in boxing for over 25 years! Matt boxed as an amateur and a professional before he turned to coaching. He first laced up the gloves at the age of 8, although too young to compete as an amateur he had around 10 exhibition bouts(no decisions) between the age of 8 and 11. Once old enough to compete as an amateur he went on to box in many competitions. Winning 4 regional titles and 2 national titles, he also represented England on 6 occasions gaining vital experience boxing in England, N. Ireland, Denmark and Russia. Whether you are new to boxing or an experienced boxer, Matt will be able to suit your needs. If it’s your first time don’t panic, you will be given a quick crash course on the basics of boxing to make you feel more comfortable in class. If you are an experienced boxer you will be given more advanced technical advice and assistance to suit. Matt is Left Hook Amateur Team’s head coach. Matt also teaches the regular boxing class from Monday to Thursday. His regular class starts with 30 mins of technical work, then you will cover all aspects of boxing training including bag work, skipping, shadow boxing and more. Class ends with a cardio/core circuit which will help improve core strength and fitness, followed by a stretch out.

Edwin De La Renta

Edwin De La Renta currently competes as an amateur boxer. As a coach he has been part of the Left Hook team since Autumn 2014. He initially took up boxing at the age of 15 but put it down to pursue the dramatic arts in his late teens. After completing university & then drama school. He went on to teach dance & gymnastics at many schools all over London before focusing on the sweet science. Edwin is additionally a professional actor and can often be seen on screen & stage from time to time. His knowledge has also been instrumental in consulting & helping fellow actors with fight choreography.
